THE VICTORY (1805)

The H.M.S Victory , a vessel of 104 guns and 880 members of the crew, was well known for being in the British Admiralty during the Battle of Trafalgar, under the command of such admirals as Keppel, Kempenfelt, Howe,Hood and Jarvis, the vessel was not of such high repute.

At Trafalgar,her flags bore the famous inscription; “England hopes that each men accomplishes his duty”.

On the 21st of October 1805, the victory set out in a battle against the ship of Admiral Villeneuve, the Bugentaure and the Redoutable. The Victory came out victorious but Admiral Nelson died in the cockpit of the Victory.

The Victory is preserved as a historical relic at Portmouth In England.
